J.P. attended the University of Michigan after graduating from the Maret School of Washington. J.P., who is fluent in both English and Spanish, studied business at the University of Salamanca, Spain. He completed his formal study of business at Johns Hopkins University, receiving his Masters of Business Administration. He became a senior executive for International Solutions, an international economic consulting firm specializing in North-South trade, with clients including IBM and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Over his 20 years in real estate and real estate development, he has been a Top Producer agent at Prudential Real Estate, Sotheby's International Realty, and , and was Executive Director of Luxury Homes for Keller Williams Capital Properties and a member of the Agent Leadership Council for Keller Williams Realty.
