About Josh
Josh Hurwitz, originally from Evanston, IL, moved to California for its climate and outdoor lifestyle, choosing to settle in the SF East Bay. After two decades in industrial real estate and the maritime industry, he's now channeling his expertise into residential real estate. Josh loves guiding clients through buying, selling, and investing with precision and care, blending an analytical approach with a human touch.
Together with his wife and business partner, Erika Vexler, they bring a transformative touch to real estate, offering stellar experiences with minimal stress. Erika’s interior design skills help maximize home sale prices and enhance new residences.
Prior to real estate, Josh advised on major real estate transactions and served as CFO for a marine terminal at the Port of Oakland, a project that won the San Francisco Business Times Real Estate Deal of the Year in 2009. He holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
Josh is also Treasurer and Board Member of Greenbelt Alliance, working to ensure the Bay Area has ample housing while preserving its beautiful greenspaces for recreation, farming and nature. Residing in Piedmont with his wife and three sons, he enjoys travel, baking, making pickles, running, and salsa dancing. Exploring local bakeries and pop-up restaurants is a family favorite.
