About Jonathan
Jonathan Marks, an award-winning, residential Realtor® in the top 1% year after year, long time Bay Area resident, entrepreneur, photographer, and family man who grew up in the Bay Area, epitomizes that which is essential to succeed in real estate. Extraordinarily ethical, and ingeniously creative, Jonathan knows what it takes to ensure every real estate transaction is treated with the utmost reverence and attention to detail it deserves while also maintaining a spirit of support, care, professionalism, and parity.
Having started his own licensed music and entertainment business in the mid-1980s working with internationally renowned acts ranging from the Beatles and the Grateful Dead, to the Rolling Stones and Madonna, Jonathan built his business up to a multi-million dollar international success story, gaining arguably a level of notoriety in Japan typically reserved for actors and musicians of worldwide acclaim. Having tired of the frequent trips to Japan and wishing to spend his time closer to home with his children, Jonathan decided to pursue his passion for real estate full-time.
With over 28 years of experience buying and selling residential and rental properties in Marin, San Francisco, and Sonoma as well as being a lauded public speaker on real estate and creativity in business, Jonathan’s boundless drive, unwavering enthusiasm, and professionalism speak volumes about the kind of attention you will receive and is the reason he is sought after by clients, brokerages, and speaking organizations around the country.
Jonathan currently resides in Marin and lives for the outdoors, thankfully never too far from a muddy mountain bike trail or scenic vista. He is a member of the Marin Association of Realtors®, the San Francisco Association of Realtors®, the California Association of Realtors®, and the National Association of Realtors®, as well as the American Society of Media Photographers, and the Advertising Photographers of America. Additionally, Jonathan served for years as a Director on the Marin Association of Realtors® Board of Directors, sat on the Advisory Board for Clean Offer, served on the Advisory Board of a local non-profit school, is the founder of the Bay Area-based Grateful Dads Organization, and has been a volunteer with Rock Medicine, a division of the Haight-Ashbury Free Medical Clinic, since 1986.
