About Joanne
"With over 40 years of deal-making experience as an attorney, investor and real estate broker, I bring a special combination of expertise, service and professionalism to my clients."
When you buy or sell a home in New York City, you want an experienced broker who's smart, honest and focused on you.
Joanne has years of experience in the field. But what really makes Joanne special is her 40 years as a successful dealmaker in other high-pressure areas in addition to real estate. She has been a corporate lawyer with the law firm of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz; general counsel for Orion Pictures; and a partner at the private equity firm of Warburg Pincus. Even in challenging situations, Joanne can structure, negotiate and close transactions with highly successful outcomes.
A native New Yorker, Joanne is on the Board of the Atlantic Theater Company, the Off-Broadway theater and acting school founded by David Mamet and William H. Macy. She is also on the Board of Dance Heginbotham, a New York-based contemporary dance company committed to supporting, producing and sustaining the work of choreographer John Heginbotham. Joanne also served for many years as a Board member of Young Audiences New York, an arts-in-education organization that brings the visual, performing and literary arts into the lives of New York City's public schoolchildren. Having served as President of the co-op Board at both of the Park Avenue buildings she has lived in over the past 30+ years, Joanne has an insider's perspective on the workings of luxury buildings in Manhattan.
A graduate of Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences and the Harvard Law School, Joanne is a master at navigating the intricacies of New York City residential real estate with skill and discretion. Her many loyal clients are a testament to the fact that you can trust her to address your needs efficiently and effectively. You can always be confident that Joanne is there for you and looking out for your interests.
TESTIMONIALS
Your job wasn’t easy. You had to handle negotiations between the two sellers first…Two real estate agencies were involved on the selling side. The demands of a not-easy-as-pie co-op board had to be met. And the apartment had to be priced just right. … You had to control not only the bidding, but also me because I was howling to take the money and run the first time a buyer rattled his piggy bank. Net net: I got significantly more than I was hoping for and my next door neighbor’s estate did proportionately well….When I no longer had a reason to purchase a new apartment for myself, as I had originally planned, you cheerfully accepted the news and seemed almost as happy for me as I was for myself. So would I recommend you to other prospective sellers (or buyers) in New York? Only if they want a skilled negotiator, a deft people-handler, a knowledgeable expert, and an all-around pro. You’re sensational! - Seller, Upper East Side coop
Last year, my wife and I met with several brokers in an unsuccessful attempt to find someone we felt comfortable working with. We were instantly attracted to your professional manner, impressive business experience and complete candor. You did an excellent job educating us on the general market and the variables that go into the decision making process. You were respectful of our price parameters and provided sound pricing advice in an extremely competitive market. One of the greatest benefits of using you as our broker was the timeliness of your information. In sum, you were and are an exceptional real estate broker and you have my strong and unequivocal recommendation. - Buyer, Midtown East condo
We just wanted to send you a heartfelt “thanks” for the tireless effort you made in helping us find our city place. Your expert guidance in navigating the extraordinarily intense and complicated Manhattan real estate market proved invaluable. Perhaps most of all, your patience was truly a virtue. We were very fortunate that you gave up so many of your weekends to accommodate our schedule. Plus, it was a real pleasure to work with a true pro who was trying to find a fit for us versus trying simply to close a deal. - Buyer, Gramercy condo
I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and expertise selling my mom's apartment so quickly! You priced it right, negotiated with several less than perfect buyers and made sure that we got the price we wanted from buyers who were able to satisfy the coop board. My sisters and I are so grateful. It really couldn't have gone any better. We will be sure to recommend you to our family and friends. - Seller, Upper East Side coop
You helped us find the exact type of apartment we were looking for in a price range that was in our comfort zone. And you were a tremendous asset getting us through the co-op approval process. In short, you were there every step of the way to help us navigate through this complicated process. We’re very grateful for your guidance and counsel. - Buyer, Upper West Side coop
