About Jeanne
One of Compass DC’s founding agents, Jeanne Harrison has proudly called Capitol Hill home since 1985. Her desire to help create a sense of “community” began decades before she became an agent 20 years ago, and continues today. A past co-president of the Stanton Park Neighborhood Association and former board member of CHAMPS, she is currently on the Board of the Capitol Hill Community Foundation. Always active in her neighborhood, she is a longtime volunteer at innumerable community events, including the Capitol Hill Classic bike brigade, The Literary Feast, and as a bike marshal for Hill Family Biking. She and the Jeanne Phil Meg Team support and sponsor just about everything that happens on the Hill, and their annual client gingerbread decorating party is legendary.
A CUA Architecture grad, Jeanne shares insights to help buyers and sellers alike envision possibilities in their homes, and knows first-hand how sweat equity works, having spent years of weekends restoring houses with her husband. She is particularly passionate about staging properties and after seeing her transformations, more than one seller has joked about reconsidering their decision to move. Extremely knowledgeable about how best to position a property, and equally comfortable helping first timers or seasoned veterans, she has a special affinity for helping sellers downsize and all that entails. Sellers have also benefitted from her ability to successfully pitch seemingly-insignificant items about their homes to the press, generating additional buzz and improving sales prices. Jeanne is a skilled negotiator, knows the importance of details, and is adept at creating “win-win” situations.
Named one of the 100 Best Real Estate Agents by Washingtonian Magazine (and with her Teammates has been named a Washingtonian Best Team every year since 2016), her business is almost exclusively from referrals by other satisfied clients. She and the Team are particularly honored that many real estate colleagues have referred to and chosen to work with them personally, locally and across the country.
Featured in Forbes as “the realtor who uses pedal power to sell houses,” Jeanne sports a jaunty in-town polka dot helmet when getting around or showing property by bike. She is actually a very serious cyclist who has toured extensively by bike with her husband throughout Western Europe and the US, cycled from DC to Canada, in Chile/Argentina, across Costa Rica, and has ridden several of the major summits to watch the pros ride the Tour de France (2013 Men’s, 2023 Women’s). She also enjoys sailing, snorkeling, and supporting the Washington Spirit and DC United. Prior to real estate Jeanne spent 15 years honing her excellent customer service skills in luxury hotel management.
