Ilana Tanowitz

Ilana Tanowitz is a dedicated member of The Oldfather Group at Compass Real Estate, serving clients in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. A native Marylander born in Baltimore, Ilana spent over a decade in Atlanta before returning to Maryland, where she’s called Bethesda home for nearly 20 years. Before entering real estate, Ilana enjoyed a successful career as a financial analyst at companies like Coca-Cola and TBS. Her long standing passion for homes and interior design, combined with her natural empathy and commitment to helping others, make her an exceptional resource for buyers and sellers alike.

With a BBA in Finance from Emory University, Ilana brings a detail-oriented approach to real estate, leveraging her problem-solving skills and open communication style to ensure a seamless experience for her clients. Her warm personality and patience allow her to build strong, trusting relationships, while her market knowledge and eye for design ensure her clients achieve their goals.

Ilana lives in Bethesda, MD, with her husband, three sons, and two Goldendoodles. She is actively involved in her community, particularly within the Pyle and Whitman school networks. Outside of work, she enjoys Peloton workouts, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending quality time with family and friends.
