"No matter how many ways I write this, there’s no easy way to articulate how incredible our experience was in working with Greg as our Realtor. "My husband and I had been on-and-off looking at buying homes for more than a year when we met Greg. We had met and gone to look at houses with 4 different other realtors in that time. We were in a bit of a unique situation - we LOVED our condo, and didn't "need" to move. We were really only looking to see if we could find a home that was better than what we had. That meant we had a very specific list. We had stopped working with the other realtors because after viewing houses with them that didn't closely align with our wish list, we felt like we were wasting our time and theirs.
We met Greg at an open house, and immediately liked his low-key and straightforward demeanor. He asked us some questions about what we thought of the house we were at, and listened to the so-so feedback we gave him without giving us a "sales pitch." We agreed to meet to talk more to see if he could help us find a house that ticked more of our boxes than the one we had just looked at. We talked about what we liked and didn't like, and came up with a short list of properties to see. I felt comfortable that he knew "our taste" and our wishlist and was combing the MLS on our behalf - more than once he emailed us about a new house that came on the market before it came up on my radar.
He even showed us a couple houses that weren't on the market yet, and my husband and I appreciated that. Because we liked one of those houses and trusted Greg, we finally felt (somewhat) comfortable that we'd find that impossible "better than ours" house, and we agreed to list our condo.
Greg went above and beyond getting our condo listed - we'd been talking about potentially listing it for a week or so, but we only committed to listing about 3 days before the target list date. Greg was able to arrange for a photographer to come take photos the next day, got them processed that night, and did a great job creating marketing materials and marketing our unit. He took the time to learn about all the best features of our home, and made cards to describe special touches we put into our recent remodel to feature the upgraded finishes. We had a lot of interest at the two open houses he held. Less than five days after listing, we had several full-list price or above-list price offers. We were very happy that we were able to sell to a couple that already lived in the building, and Greg was instrumental in making that happen. Because they told him that they planned to make an offer, he made sure to touch back in with them to let them know we had other offers on the table and that they needed to submit an offer ASAP if they wanted a shot. We felt very fortunate selling to someone we already knew, and Greg's handling of multiple offers resulted in a sale price we were happy with.
Around the same time as the sale, we found a home that we liked enough to make an offer on. While the purchase price on the home a little more than we initially set out to spend, we never felt like Greg was only showing us houses at the top end of our budget, or that he was steering us towards choosing a more expensive house. Greg was really thoughtful and helpful in walking us through pros and cons of every house we saw, including current market considerations and future resale considerations. That made us feel more comfortable putting an offer on an "expensive" house that met our needs when we did finally find it.
Greg has also been great at answering questions and making sure everything is done on time throughout the process, which I appreciate - especially considering there was less than a week between the sale of our condo and submitting the offer on the house
