It took going into real estate for Grant Cooper to find his professional passion, and his personal love, wife and business partner Bronwyn Kelley. Bronwyn and Grant love working with buyers in a collaborative way so they find a home they fall in love with. Yet falling in love is half the battle; they also guide you through the steps to actually secure the property you want. For sellers, they rely on accurate comparables of units sold in a particular building and neighborhood, and strive to strategically price homes to sell and then help sellers market their homes in the best light possible to get the highest price possible. With over seven years in real estate, Grant specializes in purchases and sales of condos and townhouses in Manhattan, Brownstone Brooklyn, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint where he and Bronwyn currently live. They also work in Jacksonville, Florida as they have home there as well. 

Originally from an idyllic town north of Boston called Marblehead, Mass, Grant moved to NYC 20 years ago in 2004 after attending Deerfield Academy and Davidson College on a financial aid scholarship.  Grant has had a lot of jobs before finding his way into real estate and he loves that he can relate to so many people from his many jobs and gigs.  After working construction during school-break summers and work-study during the school year at Davidson, Grant landed his "first real job" in the wild world of film production on the set of Dick Wolf's Sherlock Holmes inspired Law and Order - Law and Order-Criminal Intent.  He then worked for many other exciting projects including the movie Enchanted, and Saturday Night Live.  Grant then became a camera man for NY1 News an interviewed many of NYC’s movers and shakers including Mayor Bloomberg and Governors Corzine, Spitzer, Patterson and then Attorney General of New York, Andrew Cuomo.  But he has learned the most from working in Real Estate and prides himself on helping his clients and get out the word about his listings like he used to do as a cameraman.  Outside of work he loves racquet sports and riding anything with wheels, yet since becoming a real estate agent, his free time is scarce!

A Tough Sale

Bronwyn and I worked on this beautiful listing on the Upper West Side, one building from Riverside Park, where Bronwyn helped stage the property using some of her own furniture and the sellers' furniture.  Unfortunately, the market took a turn for the worse right as the listing went on the market.  It was such a spectacular unit that it was tough to run an open house and have one or two parties show up.  The listing did not go into contract as spring turned into summer.  With it being at a high price point, we were worried all of the potential customers would now be on vacation for summer.  We continued to run open houses, tweak the marketing, call agents with similar listings and discuss the listing in weekly meetings to get eyes on the property.  The property continued to sit and we came up with an idea, maybe we should rent the property until the market returned.  The seller agreed. All of sudden, we were getting slammed at open houses and surprisingly, many parties came by who just sold their home and were looking for a rental before they bought again.  These renters were super sweet and were dying to rent the home for a year or two and possibly buy it.  Some considered buying it instead of renting it. Somehow with all of the rental interest, one party decided that they couldn't miss out on this opportunity to own this unique home with an incredible location and they decided to make an offer.  With a little back and forth, the seller accepted their offer and we got into contract!  The due diligence was a little arduous as there hadn't been a recent sale in the building but eventually we got to the finish line and even helped the sellers move some of their beautiful things.  Give us a call today!  We'd love to discuss working together to market your home in a classy and creative way.  Here's the video that we had shot by an amazing videographer:
