Esther Tahrir

Born and raised in San Francisco and the Mendocino Coast, with a BA in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz and a Masters Degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley, I am passionate about helping you find your unique place in Northern California; a place that nourishes the soul and will feed your passions. It does mine, for the ocean, the great outdoors, the cultural strongholds celebrating dance, music, art and the amazing and inspiring cultural and ethnic diversity that surrounds us. 

Building community and connecting people to resources, and to each other, is my life purpose. For the past 30 years I have worked to build healthy and secure communities around California and the world. I bring this vast and deep cultural competency and multilingual language skills to the real estate transaction. Fluent in Spanish, French and speaking Portuguese, one of my greatest passions is working with people from diverse backgrounds in their own language to find their dream home.

Raised by a single mom in poverty in a rented house, I know the feeling of being house insecure. As I grew up, I vowed to buy a house for my family and at age 37, after a life of saving from my non-profit public health job, I was able to make that dream a reality. Buying a home in Alameda as a single woman, I have now seen the equity, and my personal financial security, grow exponentially; Building my wealth so much more quickly and easily than through my salary alone. Besides financial security, I have also enjoyed the health benefits of reduced stress, community connection, and safety. 

Owning my first house gave me the confidence I needed, and I have now owned three investment properties in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and Coastal Mendocino.
