"Emi helped us sell our three-bedroom condominium in front of Ala Moana Boulevard at over $10 million, and I could not be any happier with the whole process. She accommodated our desired terms of sale, managing our expectations through the process. She coordinated the entire sale process on our behalf, so we did not have to get involved in fixing and following up on items that needed attention, especially given that we were overseas during this time, and she personally boxed and sent us our goods when the sale was completed. She has been a wonderful friend and resource to us, and I would be delighted to work with her if there was another opportunity. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell luxury residences in Honolulu."

"Emi is the best real estate agent in Hawaii. She is very efficient, very quick to respond, and always considers her client’s needs. She never pushes her opinion, she always listens to what the clients want to do, and gives her professional suggestion if necessary. She sold my home much quicker than I expected, with desired price. Not only did she sell my home, she helped me sell unused items, and she organized the whole process and worked with me step by step until I actually hand over the house. She even helped me find my next home! I couldn’t have completed anything without Emi. I am so happy that Emi is my agent, and I highly recommend her to anybody who wants to sell/buy a home quickly with a satisfactory price."

About Emi A.
Approachable, knowledgeable, resourceful, and conscientious—these are the four qualities that I aspire to provide both real estate clients and agents. Having worked in Honolulu for over 10 years, I have detailed knowledge of the island and its people. A licensed real estate broker, I have a broad network of real estate professionals. My work with a renowned local developer on the prestigious Park Lane Ala Moana has provided me considerable experience in understanding and satisfying the real estate requirements of high-net-worth individuals. I have extensive multi-lingual and multi-cultural capabilities.

I was born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan to a Japanese mother and an American father. Raised in a suburb of Tokyo, I went through the Japanese public education system (K-12) and graduated from the prestigious Toritsu Kokusai (Tokyo Metropolitan Kokusai High School. In college, I earned a B.A. in Chinese Studies and Economics from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. I studied at Fudan University in Shanghai, China during my senior year of college. I am native level in both English and Japanese and conversational level in Mandarin Chinese.

As a result of my parents’ careers in international education, I grew up in a multilingual and multicultural environment with people from all over Asia. So far, I have visited friends in nine Asia Pacific countries. Given my background and subsequent experience, my comparative advantage is working with international clients desiring to buy luxury properties.

My interest in Hawaii began during my college years in Oregon where I had several close Hawaiian friends. I became acquainted with Honolulu during a summer term at the University of Hawaii Manoa. These experiences inspired me to move to Oahu and pursue a professional career.

My first job in real estate was with Ritz-Carlton Residences. In 2013, I joined the Waikiki Beach project sales team as a showroom coordinator. The following year, I was promoted to Sales Assistant. Looking back, I feel blessed to have worked with some great mentors. My most valuable lesson from this period was what Japanese call the art of “omotenashi” which, roughly translated, means “extraordinary and sincere hospitality.” An emphasis on first-rate customer service remains the core of my sales philosophy.

In April 2015, I joined Heyer & Associates as a member of the sales team for the Park Lane Ala Moana project. My very first transaction at Park Lane was a record condominium sale for Hawaii: $22 million for the Grand Penthouse. Closing the deal was a true test of my linguistic skills, cultural awareness, and the artful application of omotenashi. I worked with the same Park Lane team until the exhaustion of the developer’s inventory in February 2020. My focus recently has been representing Park Lane as well as other luxury Honolulu properties.

I feel fortunate to have found a career that I thoroughly love. I’m enthusiastic about working with people from diverse backgrounds. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, running, and weight lifting. I also love cooking and exploring restaurants in Honolulu. I look forward to working with you in buying or selling your home on the island. It would be a pleasure to share my favorite yoga studios, amazing Honolulu running routes and favorite places to dine.
