Ellen Taracido

Ellen Taracido is an accomplished real estate professional who joined Compass after serving as a Co-Founder, CEO, and Managing Broker of her own brokerage for over 5 years. With over $100 million in real estate transactions under her belt, Ellen is a recognized expert in both residential sales and new construction developments.

A Realtor® and resident of Fort Lauderdale since 2009, Ellen is deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism in the real estate industry. She holds the Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) designation from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), which acknowledges her dedication to maintaining integrity and client-focused service at every level of her work. Ellen is also an active leader in the real estate community, serving as a Director for the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), contributing to key committees like Emerging Technology and Forms Content, and volunteering extensively with The Broward, Palm Beach & St. Lucie Realtors (RWorld). Her roles as a Code of Ethics Instructor, NAR-approved Mediator and Ombudsman, and North Broward Regional Board Member (2022-2024) demonstrate her influence and leadership in shaping industry standards. 

In addition to her NAR certifications as a Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA), Ellen is a Florida State Notary Public and was honored with the prestigious 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award for Real Estate by South Florida Business and Wealth Magazine. 

Originally from New Rochelle, New York, Ellen’s real estate journey began in Manhattan, where she purchased, renovated, and sold properties in the exclusive Sutton Place area, sparking her passion for the field. A graduate of Hofstra University, Ellen initially built a successful career in the women’s garment industry before transitioning full-time into real estate, drawn by her love for the process of home creation and transformation. Since relocating to South Florida in 2008, she has immersed herself in the region’s dynamic real estate market, bringing her expertise, keen market insight, and personalized approach to every transaction. 

Ellen’s philosophy centers around truly understanding her clients’ needs, providing expert guidance, and meticulously handling each stage of the buying or selling process. Known for her attention to detail and unwavering commitment to her clients, Ellen ensures that every real estate journey, no matter how complex, is handled with professionalism and care, ultimately delivering the results her clients envision.

Outside of real estate, Ellen loves spending time with her family and friends. Ellen is also a big animal lover and lives a primarily vegan lifestyle.  She supports animal causes and has rescued many pets.  Currently she has two rescue Chihuahua mix dogs that she considers her "fur babies".
