About Ed
Ed Melchor’s wealth of experience and ability, great sense of humor, compassion, and dedication are
what clients notice first. Prior to Residential sales, he worked for 15 years as a Commercial Property Manager and Leasing
Director where he honed the skills that would bring success when he transitioned to residential real estate
sales in the winter of 2003. During his long 35+ year Real Estate career, Ed maintained a continued high level of service working with all price points; first time home buyers and sellers, investors, new construction as well as luxury home buyers and sellers. And, prides himself on offering luxury service and every price point.
Organized, detailed, and assertive, Ed works with clients at all stages of their lives. “Clients have different priorities depending on their stage of life and lifestyle, and I make sure to acknowledge what is important to them and make sure they achieve those goals – and that includes developing an understanding of what both sides of the transaction need to feel good about the transaction. An overall enjoyable experience while helping clients find what they are looking for is my number one goal,” he says.
A comprehensive grasp of the Houston metropolitan and surrounding areas’ residential, commercial and retail markets makes Ed a steady source of invaluable information. “I know how important school districts are to a family as well as proximity to employment, restaurants, shopping and night life,” he says. “Working hands-on with school, financial and retail districts as a commercial Realtor gave me insight to the different lifestyles available throughout Houston and allows me to suggest neighborhoods tailored to clients’ preferences.”
Over the years, Ed has volunteered for many Houston area organizations including Houston Proud, YMCA, West Houston Chamber of Commerce, Galleria Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, DARE, MADD, Just Say No, Unity Church and HPD’s ICSC Kids Identification Program.
He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, holds a BBA in marketing, and has earned the CLHMS (Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist), ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), and HFR (Home Finance Resource) professional designation. Ed enjoys (when time permits) spinning, nature walks, cooking, pick-up basketball and “binge watching” science fiction, super-hero, or period-piece movies.
