About David
Growing up in Sierra Madre, David always thought all houses were the same until one day he visited a family friend who lived in a “new” house built in the 60s. It seemed like a regular home on the outside except for its flat roof. But on the inside it was completely different than any home he had ever been inside. It was private yet filled light; he was in awe.
It was during his senior year at LA County High School for the Arts that David was introduced to the work of Arata Isozaki and fell in love with the home Frank Gehry built as his residence in Santa Monica. Since then, David’s interest in Mid-Century modern post and beam architecture has grown, while Desconstuctionism and Brutalism speak to him as well.
David attended school at The Art Center and Academy of Arts before deciding to pursue his passion for tattooing. His career took off, his studio was even featured on “The Office” and was the location of the TV series “Tattoo Nightmares.” After a successful career, David is looking for something equally rewarding, but easier on the hands.
David serves the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valley areas and would love to expand into the Westside and beach communities of SoCal. He wanted to find a brokerage that fit right and after interviewing with a few big national brokerages, realized Deasy Penner Podley is where he felt at home. He was drawn to dpp’s Instagram presence as well as programs such as Curate, which aims to help sellers get the best price for their home.
David’s hobbies include skiing, skateboarding, cycling, hiking, camping, and illustration; his newest passion is his Instagram @Architectural.Homes where he highlights striking homes that embrace their natural environment or those that are a bold statement of contrasting materials and elements.
David knows his experience as a tattoo artist has prepared him to be an excellent Realtor®. After hustling in the tattoo industry for many years, he is a creative problem solver who cares genuinely for his clients and works hard to understand their wants and needs. David loves good design and impressive architecture and is incapable of hiding his enthusiasm. He currently lives in East Pasadena with his partner, two sons, and two mini pinschers. He hopes to one day flip a few properties and eventually buy a piece of land by a ski resort and build an off-grid, environmentally friendly, self sufficient architectural statement home.
