About Carey
Born and raised in Chicago, Carey started his residential real estate career as a licensed assistant to a top-producer with @properties, the #1 real estate firm in Chicago. He cut his teeth on new development marketing and residential brokerage in 2005. Carey managed team transactions and listings, implemented team marketing, and closed millions of his own personal sales volume.
Carey’s biotech background brought him to San Francisco in 2012 where he reconnected with real estate in 2014. City Point Realty introduced Carey to commercial leasing and investment in addition to residential sales. In 2016 when Carey joined Compass he finally returned to his first passion, residential home buyers and sellers. Consisting of the metro area’s top producing agents, Compass partnered with 138 affiliate brokerages and 1350 offices in 46 countries worldwide. The Bay Area’s real estate market has global appeal, so its agents must have a global reach.
Since joining Compass, Carey has partnered with Robert Landsness where they continue to provide extraordinary service to their buyers and sellers. Through Compass’s powerful vendor network, business partnerships and cutting-edge marketing services the team is able to provide unparalleled value to their clients.
Carey recognizes excellent service is a deeply personal matter. Today there exists fantastic online tools for searching and transacting real estate, but there is no substitute for knowledgeable and accountable professionals that work as YOUR team to smoothly facilitate YOUR goals.
Over 80% of Carey’s business comes from referral, something that can only be achieved through listening, learning, and action. Maintaining a full-time team and network is no longer the exception, it is the rule. That is why 25-30% of residential real estate transactions take place off-market. As a full-time agent, it is our business to stay dialed in to that network for our clients.
In their free time both Carey and Robert volunteer their time with The Guardsmen, a non-profit organization supporting at-risk youth from San Francisco and the East Bay with camperships and scholarship. In 2016 The Guardsmen raised $1.7 million and sent 2500+ children to camp and another 250+ to school.
