"Cara and her team were incredibly competent, professional and overall amazing to work with-- from our first conversation through closing (and after!). Cara is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and her years of experience really show. She made great recommendations about where to search, pricing, etc. down to specific neighborhoods and even streets. She was incredibly responsive and made herself available for calls, touring houses, etc. very quickly. We were nervous buyers, and she really took the time to explain things to us and answer questions. When she took us to homes, she had so much knowledge about home maintenance, construction, values, etc. She had incredible attention to detail and was quick to point things out-- good and bad, so that we could make an informed assessment. "Cara is fantastic and it was a great decision to work with her when buying a home. My wife and I are first-time home buyers in our mid-30s with a 2-yr old. We found Cara through the realtor search at The Washingtonian. She was listed as one of the top agents in the area and had won many awards. From the first phone call and zoom meeting, it was obvious why she has acquired those accolades. First, Cara is extremely knowledgeable about the DMV area and has a keen understanding of the neighborhoods in and around DC. As first-time home buyers, who had predominantly rented in DC, the Maryland suburbs were unfamiliar to us. But Cara showed us several neighborhoods that would have been excellent fits for our family. Second, she applies this knowledge of the area extremely well and found us a great fit because she listened to and cared about our wants and concerns as buyers. For example, given how hot the market has been and the time in which we were buying, I was concerned about making a good investment now but also for the future. Cara was able to walk through and point out places where value could be added to a home and provide some insight into how different modifications might affect the long-term value of the property. Similarly, my wife was especially interested in a yard for our son. Cara was always mindful of this consideration when helping us evaluate the homes we viewed. Third, Cara gets things done quickly and efficiently but always made us feel like a priority. The DC market is always tough and made tougher by the pandemic. We had a modest budget for the area, but Cara always made us feel like we were her only client. She was always responsive to texts, calls, and e-mails even on weekends or evenings. And, even after signing our contract and closing never disappeared or passed us off. During the buying process, Cara was able to arrange for us to see our home, walk through, get an inspection, make an offer, and seal the purchase agreement within the span of a couple of days – like it was nothing. Her straightforward, professional approach to the business parts of home buying helped put us in the best position to make a winning offer and it worked. Finally, Cara has an amazing team and professional network in the area. Once we had an accepted offer her team was able to provide all the information we needed for the next steps and help get things like appraisals, escrow, and inspections all set up.
