We have been working on and off with Brian for probably 10 years before buying this property. At the time we had two toddlers in a two-bedroom condo and wanted something larger, but it never seemed like the right time to make a move. Brian was infinitely patient as we got excited about buying, then pulled back time and time again. He was always there to give advice and show us options, but I never felt pressured in any way into a decision I wasn’t comfortable with. I felt like he truly listened and cared about what was important to us.

When I saw a 3-bedroom condo listed right downtown, I called Brian up immediately. He took me to see it that afternoon, then again with my husband and family that evening. After looking through the disclosures carefully, we determined that this was the one! At Brian’s advice, we didn’t hesitate and put in a solid offer right away, before the property had gained much interest. Our bid was accepted, and we were in contract. A back up offer came in later, but thanks to Brian’s advice we had beaten them to the punch.

Then the fun started, as everything shut down due to the coronavirus. Our loan was delayed because no appraiser could come to the house due to shelter in place. The seller was getting nervous, we were anxious, but Brian was a calm, reassuring presence and supported us through it all. Eventually the condo was appraised, our loan went through, the property closed, and we moved into our dream home. My two children, now teenagers, have their own rooms and sanity has been restored to our household!

Then we needed to sell our other 2-bedroom condo, and Brian came through for us once again. We were in full lockdown due to COVID-19, our condo needed some work, and we were stretched financially trying to support two places. We were feeling anxious and overwhelmed, but Brian helped us set realistic goals to fix the place up and get it on the market quickly. He went above and beyond by coordinating the painter, plumber, handyman, flooring, cleaners, and stagers and even went personally to the store to find us the perfect stove in our price range. On top of this, he had to deal with additional hurdles due to COVID-19: making sure workers were masked and followed proper safety procedures, handling paperwork for anyone who entered the property, coordinating schedules so workers were not in the property at the same time, etc.

The entire renovation was completed in about a month, within our budget, and the place looked gorgeous. We could hardly believe it was the same place! He found an interested buyer before the renovations were even finished. He counseled us about pros and cons of taking an early offer before listing and encouraged us to ask more than we were originally planning based on market research. We ended up getting a cash offer $10,000 above our asking price before even listing the property, and the contract closed within two weeks. It could not have gone any better, and we owe so much to Brian’s careful strategy and tireless efforts.

I had met Brian some time ago before he became a realtor. I knew him to be a wonderful, honest, and exceptional person. Our move to the Half Moon Bay area turned out to be far more challenging than we expected, and thank goodness we partnered with Brian Lee in our house search. Brian was not only a great realtor – knowledgeable of the real estate market on the coast and all of the legal aspects of buying a house – but he also provided expert advice and often-needed empathy as we struggled with a difficult seller.

We first met Brian during his open house, which we believed at that time was the perfect house for us, and it soon became clear that his client, the seller, would not be easy to work with. Though we knew Brian before we decided to work with him on our home sale, we didn't know how dedicated he really was to be a personal partner in the process. He is genuinely interested in learning about your goals and needs, and where real estate can fit in - not the other way around. I really feel that he has your best interests in mind, and is willing to put in his time to figure out the path. He patiently stuck with us through our vague sense of what we wanted, and helped us formulate a plan, including introducing us to a great mortgage broker who shared Brian's personal touch.

What really stuck with us is the experience of selling our home in 2008. We decided to put it out to market right before the Lehman Bros. disaster, so things weren't looking great after that. Let me start by saying that I have worked with a lot of realtors over my lifetime and Brian is one of the best. His working philosophy is that he is there to make the client's life better, and he will do everything in his power to do that.

When I bought my house, it was a very challenging market and Brian took a great deal of time and trouble to make sure I got the one I wanted. Brian is an exceptional listener and he payed careful attention to my needs and concerns. He didn't try to talk me into a house that wasn't right, nor did he try to nudge me into a higher price range than I wanted to be in. He took the time to make sure I would be happy in the house I bought.

Selling the house was not quite as difficult, but again, I couldn't have done it as easily or well without Brian. The house needed quite a bit of work, both repair and cosmetic work. Brian gave me excellent advice about what to have done to make the best deal on the house and also what I should leave alone because it wouldn't be worth the cost. Whenever there was any kind of difficulty, Brian was right there ready and willing to step in and solve it.

Brian is also a great negotiator. His experience and his knowledge of the market and the area make him a good judge of what is reasonable. He is able to assess the situation and give accurate and clear advice. He is open and honest with his clients and does he best to explain his reasoning.
