Under Bob Gerlach's leadership, Compass (formerly Alain Pinel Realtors) Palo Alto office has consistently been one of the top producing offices within the company. During his almost 4 decades of management, Bob has led and built three offices, all of which grew quickly and became the leading offices in their respective markets.

Bob's family was involved in the real estate business and he began his career working as a sales person with Fox & Carskadon, a small locally based company. After working as a sales agent, he moved quickly through the management ranks. In 1981 he became the assistant manager of Fox & Carskadon's San Mateo office and in 1983 became the manager of the Los Altos office until 1986, when he opened their new Palo Alto office. The Palo Alto office quickly became one of the most successful offices within the Fox & Carskadon network and was recognized both locally and nationally.

He joined Alain Pinel Realtors in 1992, when he was recruited to open the company's Palo Alto office. Once again, his new office and venture became highly successful and soon dominated the market place.
Bob has recruited literally 100's of agents during his tenure and enjoys helping them achieve a high level of success.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of California at San Diego. He also served as Palo Alto District Chair for the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Bob now lives in Hillsborough with his wife, Bonnie.
