About Annemarie
Annemarie grew up on Long Island’s rural north shore, riding bikes, playing tennis, hanging at the beach, cooking for her family, and fine-tuning a solid work ethic. She earned her BSBA in International Business, Marketing at Washington, DC’s American University, then moved to London, where she began her professional cooking career – first at a French restaurant, then as a private chef.
Annemarie has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Her varied background in fashion, cosmetics, dot-com, and Montessori education helped her develop an eye for design, hone her craft of interiors, develop a keen focus on client support and prioritize end-user experience. Her experience in property goes all the way back to when she was a young child going to open houses with her Mom who also loved architecture and interiors.
Annemarie began her real-estate career specializing in new construction in Brooklyn. When she and her wife moved to Austin, a mutual friend introduced her to a new development team and Phase II began, ultimately landing her at Compass. She delights in finding ways to connect with people and match them to the right home – and the right chocolate. New home building is really the ultimate extension of her maker nature.
New development offers the perfect combination of sharing the vision with folks and bringing a new community to fruition. She loves exploring new foods and cultures and taking inspiration home from travels far and wide. Working with and cooking with her wife, Chriss, as well as the couple’s two young daughters, time together as a family is important. The Coats-Gatz family spends their time together learning, creating, and contributing, with lots of outdoor hours.
