We worked with other agents in the past, but decided to go with Anne Erickson from COMPASS Realty for the recent sale of our home in Arlington, VA. We are so glad we did. Anne was there every step of the way, throughout the rollercoaster ride of selling and buying a house in the current crazy market in the middle of the COVID pandemic. We were definitely a challenging and demanding client for Anne because we were not willing to have open houses or significant ‘traffic’ through our house. Anne was patient and accommodating and, through what is known as a private exclusive listing, Anne managed to sell our house at the price we were looking for.

After the sale, Anne went above and beyond in helping us buy a new house while navigating the pandemic and an increasingly difficult market. Houses would be listed and gone within days, if not hours, with no contingencies and for tens of thousands over ask (one sold for $151K over ask). Anne provided expert advice and was great about getting us in as quick as possible to see the houses. She was incredibly responsive, writing up offer after offer (sometimes late into the night). After making multiple generous offers and finding out we were not even close to the sale price, we started to get discouraged. But Anne didn’t let us give up on getting a house that we could make a home. Once again, she went back to the private exclusive listings and was able to find a couple that had similar concerns as we did when we were selling our home….the need for minimal foot traffic and disruptions while having a desire to sale and still get a fair price for their home. In the early months of the pandemic, when I was unsure whether we would be able to sell an apartment, I contacted Anne Erickson about taking on the challenge. Anne was extremely helpful throughout the process. She suggested a contractor for the installation of hardwood flooring which, after discussing with competing contractors, I used to do the work at a cost substantially lower than the competition.. We agreed on a listing price and Anne was confident she would get an offer within 45 days. In the end, it took some 30 days from listing the property to have an offer accepted at the listed price. My only regret is that because of the pandemic, I only met Anne twice: once at the apartment just before the listing, and then at the closing.
